Team Directors

David Bolliet
I was raised in the French Alps, where I developed a lifelong passion for skiing at a young age. I am a US Ski & Snowboard Level 100 certified coach with 18 years of junior ski racing coaching experience and have been active as a ski patroller since 2005, earning both regional and national recognition for my service. In addition to coaching youth racing programs and ski instruction, I have competed in NASTAR and adult racing, including earning Timber Ridge’s Fastest Male award in consecutive seasons. As the father of four daughters, including current racer Sylvie, I enjoy helping young athletes build skills, confidence, and a love for the sport. When I’m not on the snow, I enjoy mountain biking, kayaking, and rock climbing.
Charlie Reed
I developed a passion for skiing at age seven while growing up near Timber Ridge Ski Area and began ski racing with the Timber Ridge Junior Racing Team at age eight. I later competed in regional and national U.S. Ski & Snowboard and FIS events, including the Junior Olympics, and continued racing through adult leagues in Colorado and Michigan. Today, I am a Level 100 certified U.S. Ski & Snowboard coach with seven years of coaching experience. As the father of two ski racers, Jackson and Isaac, I am passionate about helping young athletes develop strong skills, confidence, and a lifelong love for skiing and ski racing.

Brian Somers
I began skiing at age three at Caberfae Peaks and grew up in a family that shared a love for skiing, spending countless days on the slopes throughout Northern Michigan and the western United States. My passion for the sport led me to Breckenridge, Colorado, where I was a ski instructor. After returning to Southwest Michigan, I spent 10 years coaching the Mattawan High School ski team, helping develop athletes and guiding racers to multiple State Finals appearances. Now, with my daughter Addison involved in ski racing, I’m excited to return to coaching and share my passion for skiing with the next generation. I look forward to helping young athletes build confidence, develop their skills, and discover the excitement of ski racing as part of Peak Racing.

Heather Turner
I have been involved in ski racing since I was five years old, beginning with the Timber Ridge Junior Development Team and continuing through my high school racing career at Paw Paw High School. Along the way, I became the first racer from Southwest Michigan to both double qualify for the State Finals and win a Regional Slalom race. Today, I live in Vicksburg with my husband, Nick, and our two children, Isabel and Beau, who also race for Peak Racing. Ski racing has played an important role in my life, and I am passionate about helping young athletes develop their skills, confidence, and lifelong friendships through the sport.

Coach Buttermilk
I first learned to ski as a child during family trips to Utah, and my passion for the sport was reignited when my children joined the Timber Ridge Junior Development Team in 2016. Since then, I have returned to racing through adult race leagues and NASTAR events while sharing my love of skiing with my family. My wife, Dawn, and I have three children—Jackson, Charlotte, and Amelia—who have all participated in junior ski racing. I am currently working toward my U.S. Ski & Snowboard Level 100 certification and am committed to helping young athletes develop their skills, confidence, and passion for the sport. I am proud to be part of the Peak Racing coaching staff and excited to help the next generation of racers succeed both on and off the hill.
Derek Heath
I have been skiing since the age of four and grew up racing at Timber Ridge through the Junior Development Team and high school racing programs. Now in my second year coaching with Peak Racing, I enjoy sharing my passion for skiing, competition, and athlete development with the next generation of racers. Coaching has always been an important part of my life, whether on the ski hill, the baseball field, or the soccer pitch. As the father of six children, including a daughter who now races with Peak Racing, I especially enjoy helping young athletes build confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love for the sport.

Kyle Frayling
I started skiing at age three but didn’t become involved in ski racing until our two oldest children, Lucas and Logan, started racing with the Timber Ridge Junior Development Team. Their passion for ski racing grew from there, and they continue to race with Peak today. Our youngest, McKinli, is starting to grow her love for skiing too, and will hopefully join Peak when ready.
This is my second year coaching with Peak Racing, and I am excited to help young athletes discover the same love for the sport that my family has experienced. In addition to ski racing, I have spent more than eight years coaching various levels of baseball and football, helping athletes develop skills, confidence, and teamwork. I am proud to be part of the Peak Racing coaching staff and look forward to supporting racers both on and off the hill.
Chris Fisher
I started skiing as soon as I could walk, thanks in part to the 80-foot ski hill my dad built in our backyard, complete with a used rope tow from Swiss Valley. I raced with the Swiss Valley JDT as a kid and spent much of my high school and college years skiing throughout the western United States. Today, I am a Level 100 U.S. Ski & Snowboard certified coach and proud father of two young racers, Denali and Rainer. After coaching at Swiss Valley for three years, I continue to enjoy helping young athletes master the art and science of ski racing while building confidence and a lifelong love for the sport. When I’m not on the ski hill, I enjoy mountain biking and life on our family hobby farm, and I work as an aeronautical engineer leading advanced aerospace development programs.

Race Day Support Staff

Woof! We’re Riley and Marley, Coach Brian’s golden retrievers and Peak Racing’s biggest four-legged fans. When the snow starts flying, you can usually find us at the race hill cheering on racers, greeting families, and accepting well-deserved ear scratches. We love playing in the snow and walks around the ski area. While we may not be fast enough for the race course, we’re experts at boosting team spirit and making new friends. Whether it’s a training day or race day, we’re always ready to support our Peak Racing family—one wagging tail at a time!
